The high waters of the Mississippi River made this years Deer Hunt at Valley Park, Mississippi a muddy mess! Though the waters were rising, we were determined to make the most of it, because the Bonfire must keep burning. We were reluctant to change the plans at the last minute but felt the safety of our Purple Hearts must come first. Not knowing if were going to need to make a quick exit, this event turned into a local members only weekend, and the "Deer" part of the hunt turned into a "Pig" hunt, well... at least that was the intention.
Prohibited by law to hunt deer in this area once the river reaches a particular stage, it almost seemed as if the deer knew it and continued to taunt our hunters with their presence. However, the pigs did not! This weekend turned quickly to a much needed Rest and Relaxation weekend! Complete with the fun of crashing drones and enjoying a private airshow put on by the Southern Heritage Air Foundation. Our Purple Heats enjoyed the opportunity once again to get out, be in the outdoors, see the goodness all around them and enjoy the Brotherhood at the Bonfire. Thank you to all those that helped make this another successful Warrior Bonfire event!
